Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 June 2026
Agreement
These terms govern the services provided by The Blinds and Tint Co (ABN 58 458 794 858), operated by Dany Ibrahim, based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. By requesting a quote, booking a measure, or engaging us to perform work, you agree to these terms.
If any part of these terms is unclear, contact us before proceeding. We are straightforward to deal with and will explain anything in plain language.
Quotes and pricing
- All quotes are provided in writing and are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated on the quote.
- Quotes are based on the conditions observed at the time of measure. If site conditions change between the measure and the install (for example, window frames are modified, walls are replastered, or access conditions change), the quote may need to be revised.
- Quoted prices include measure, supply, installation, and cleanup unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing if manufacturer costs change between the date of quote and the date of order. If this occurs, we will notify you before proceeding and you may cancel without penalty.
Payment terms
- A deposit is required to confirm your order and commence manufacturing. The deposit amount is specified on your written quote. No order is placed with our suppliers until the deposit is received.
- The remaining balance is due on completion of installation unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing.
- For trade and builder accounts, payment terms of seven (7), fourteen (14), or thirty (30) days may be arranged by agreement.
- We accept bank transfer, cash, and major credit/debit cards. A surcharge may apply to credit card payments if applicable.
- Overdue accounts may be subject to interest at the rate prescribed by the Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983 (Vic) and reasonable debt recovery costs.
Cancellations and refunds
- You may cancel an order before manufacturing begins and receive a full refund of your deposit.
- Once manufacturing has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable. Blinds, curtains, and shutters are custom-made to your specific window measurements and cannot be resold.
- Window tinting film is cut to size on site. Once film has been applied, the service fee is non-refundable unless the work is defective.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule an installation due to illness, weather, or supply delays, we will notify you as soon as possible and reschedule at no additional cost.
Workmanship warranty
- All installation work carries a twelve-month (12-month) workmanship warranty from the date of installation.
- This warranty covers defects in installation including loose brackets, misaligned tracks, chain or mechanism failure caused by incorrect fitting, and film adhesion failure caused by improper application.
- This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental impact, unauthorised modification, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions provided at the time of install.
- Warranty claims must be reported to us within the warranty period. We will inspect the issue and rectify defective workmanship at no charge.
Product warranties
- Product warranties are provided by the manufacturer, not by The Blinds and Tint Co. We will assist you in making a warranty claim with the manufacturer if a product is defective.
- Typical manufacturer warranty periods: blind fabrics and mechanisms five (5) to ten (10) years; plantation shutters ten (10) to twenty-five (25) years; window tinting film ten (10) to fifteen (15) years. Exact warranty terms vary by product and are available on request.
- Manufacturer warranties typically cover defects in materials and manufacturing (peeling, bubbling, cracking, discolouration) and do not cover damage from misuse, harsh chemicals, or improper cleaning.
Window tinting specific terms
- We assess every window for glass type and suitability before quoting. Not all films are safe on all glass types. If we determine that a particular film is not suitable for your glazing (for example, dark heat-absorbing film on certain double-glazed units), we will advise you and offer an alternative.
- Window film requires a curing period of up to four (4) weeks depending on season and sun exposure. During this period, small moisture pockets or slight haze may be visible. This is normal and will clear as the adhesive dries. Do not attempt to push out moisture pockets during the curing period.
- We are not liable for glass breakage caused by thermal stress if you instruct us to apply a film that we have advised against for your glass type.
Access and site conditions
- You are responsible for providing safe and clear access to all windows included in the quote on the day of installation.
- If access is restricted, unsafe, or materially different from what was observed at the time of measure (for example, scaffolding is required, furniture cannot be moved, or a building site is not ready), additional charges may apply or the installation may need to be rescheduled.
- For second-storey or high-access windows, we will discuss access requirements during the measure and include any additional costs in the quote.
Limitation of liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service that gave rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including loss of income, loss of use, or damage to other property, except where such exclusion is prohibited by Australian Consumer Law.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Customer-supplied products
We do not install customer-supplied blinds, curtains, shutters, or window film. All products are measured, sourced from our wholesale suppliers, and installed by us as a single service. This ensures we can warranty the fit and finish. If a product is measured or manufactured by a third party, we cannot guarantee correct fit and accept no liability for the result.
