Commercial Tinting questions, answered
Yes, and most commercial installs run after hours or on weekends specifically to avoid disrupting trading. Retail shopfronts, medical practices, and offices that cannot close during the day are booked for evenings or Saturday mornings. We coordinate timing with your shopfitter or building manager so the space is ready when we arrive.
Anti-graffiti film is a clear sacrificial layer bonded to the outer surface of the glass. When the glass is tagged with spray paint, marker, or acid etching, the film is peeled off and replaced — the glass underneath stays untouched. A single pane replacement on a shopfront can cost $500 to $2,000 or more depending on glass size and type. Anti-graffiti film costs $80 to $130 per square metre and pays for itself the first time the glass is hit. Replacement film goes on the same day the damaged layer is removed.
Solar film is a thin film, typically 50 to 75 microns, designed to reject heat and UV. It reduces air-conditioning load and protects interiors from sun damage. Safety film is much thicker — 100 to 300 microns — and is engineered to hold glass together on impact. It does not stop the glass from breaking, but it stops it from shattering into the room. Safety film is required on certain ground-floor glazing, glass near doorways, and pool-fence panels under Australian Standard AS1288. Some projects need both: a combined solar-safety film handles heat rejection and impact hold in one layer.
